Happy Valentine’s Day

I see myself as a romantic, but not of the dramatic variety. I prefer spontaneity and whimsy to expensive of elaborately crafted displays of affection. But I don’t care for obligatory or forced displays either.

I don’t usually do flowers and chocolate, or cards (though I drew the featured image above for her last year). I might take her to a movie without warning, or set up a special movie night at home, or read to her, or make a special meal. Once I set up a series of puzzles, each leading to a tiny present and the puzzle. And some times we just cuddle up on the couch and watch TV.

Honestly, I don’t think it matters what you do with your partner. What matters is that you’re there for them. So don’t sweat it if you think your romance game is weak. Just making the effort is all that is needed.
