A Little More Conversation – A Little Bit Mythbehaving

Let me share a little something about me. I’m what you might call an extroverted introvert.

What’s that? Well, we’re like regular introverts, unless you hit the right buttons of interest, at which time we become a whirlwind of non-stop activity.

Ask me about one of my favourite SF TV shows, Babylon 5, and I could go on for hours.

Same applies for my favourite authors, roleplaying systems, movies, and so on.

Point is, I can be an outgoing kind of guy… when I want to.

And trying to promote yourself as an author or cartoonist kind of requires a bit of an outgoing personality. That’s not to say that you have to go out into the middle of the street wearing a suit of armour to promote your fantasy book (something Christopher Paolini did when he started out), or make everything you say and do about your projects… sometimes it’s just being willing to talk about the stuff you love.

Enter the world of podcasts, where I was recently asked to talk about nerd stuff with author Rob McCandless and Jenn Nixon.

What did we talk about?

Um… it’s all a bit of a blur, to be honest. This was my first podcast. Maybe you can give it a listen and let me know how I did? But I’m told it went well.

Okay, I do remember doing the podcast. It was fun! Very casual, no pressure, just talking about the kind of stuff that influenced my life as a writer, and the kind of tricks I use as an editor to help other writers. It was a very breezy half hour.
