As I’ve mentioned many times, Fuzzy Knights started off as a photocomic. Back in Japan in the early 2000s, before the dawn of the smartphone, back when affordable digital cameras were just taking off.
While I was never truly happy with the medium, it did offer a lot of interesting opportunites. I tried to challenge myself with story ideas and then see how well I could pull it off in reality. Violet’s Story was one of these—a three-part series about how Violet and Mossfoot met.
To pull it off, I carried Violet around with me as Gill and I explored Tokyo and looked for places that clicked for the storyboard I had inside my head. Overall I think it worked pretty well.
Revisiting this series isn’t just about rehashing old stories, however. A lot of time has passed and I’ve gotten a lot better at writing and editing, so this was a chance to make things better. At least, I hope so!
